The invention relates to a method and a magnetic field sensor arrangement for determining the spatial distribution of the magnetic field strength and for determining static and dynamic magnetic fields, which are caused by magnetic or magnetizable or magnetic field-influencing objects and a magnetic field sensor arrangement. The invention has for its object to determine the geometry of magnetic, magnetizable and / or ferromagnetic objects in all three spatial coordinates. Furthermore, with relative movement of the objects with respect to the sensor assembly, the position change, speed and acceleration under all conceivable environmental conditions must be determined with very high reliability. To illustrate the geometry of ferromagnetic objects, artificial magnetic fields or the earth's magnetic field should be used. Also, the detection of time-varying magnetic fields should be possible. According to the invention objects to be measured are detected by means of a magnetic field sensor arrangement. The magnetic field sensor arrangement is moved mechanically in a plane translationally and / or rotationally. For this purpose, the spatial magnetic field distribution in a sectional plane which is determined by the coordinates x and y and is formed by the movement of the magnetic field sensor arrangement and is parallel to the plane which is spanned by the objects to be measured, is detected.
