Described and illustrated is a measuring tube (1) for insertion into a measuring tube receptacle (2) of a magnetic-inductive flowmeter (3) and for guiding a medium, with two electrodes (4) for tapping a voltage induced in the medium, wherein the electrodes (4) each extend at least from a medium contact region (5) to an end-side connection contact region (6) for connection to an evaluation unit, wherein the electrodes (4) on both sides of the measuring tube (1) in a perpendicular to the longitudinal axis (L) of the measuring tube (1 ) electrode plane (EE) are arranged, and the electrodes (4) extend parallel to each other and tangentially to the measuring tube (1). The object to provide a measuring tube (1), in which the disadvantages known from the prior art are reduced, is achieved in that the end-side terminal contact regions (6) of both electrodes (4) are arranged on one side of a reference plane (BE), the vertical is on the electrode plane (EE) and wherein the medium contact regions (5) are at least partially in the reference plane (BE).
