So far, the ventilation of residential buildings is mainly carried out by window ventilation without heat recovery, because known systems with supply and exhaust duct and heat exchanger are too expensive and can also be retrofitted. By preheating the supply air with wastewater heat can be achieved with limited effort a significant energy savings in the ventilation. Due to the comparatively simple air flow, the system is not only suitable for new buildings, but also for retrofitting existing buildings. 1 shows an example of a supply system with wastewater preheating.
