An electrochemical energy store, a cell controller, an energy storage system, a means of locomotion and a contacting device (1) for an electrical energy storage system (100) are proposed. The contacting device (1) comprises: a first external electrical interface (2), a second external electrical interface (3), and a balancing resistor (4), the first electrical interface (2) being set up with a cell controller (5 ) for monitoring the electrical energy storage system (100) to be electrically connected, wherein the second electrical interface (3) is adapted to be electrically connected to an electrical energy store (6) of the electrical energy storage system (100) and the balancing resistor (4) is arranged to conduct a current for charge equalization between memory cells of the electrical energy storage device (6) via the first electrical interface (2) and via the second electrical interface (3).
