A system (2) for providing power to a power grid (14) includes a generator (12) configured to deliver a first voltage associated with a first set of performance characteristics. The system (2) includes a power converter system (16) comprising a rectifier (20) arranged to convert the first voltage into a DC voltage. The power converter system (16) includes an inverter (24) having one or more switches configured to convert the DC voltage to a second voltage. The system (2) includes a processor (34) arranged to receive a second set of performance characteristics associated with the power supply network (14). The processor (34) is configured to detect one or more signals to cause the switches of the inverter (24) to convert the DC voltage to the second voltage, the second voltage having the second set of performance characteristics. The processor (34) is arranged to send the signals to the switches.
