An air-to-air charge air cooler for cooling the air supplied to an internal combustion engine includes a tube assembly having a plurality of tubes extending longitudinally. The plurality of tubes are arranged adjacent to each other. Each of the plurality of tubes includes an inlet for receiving the airflow and an outlet for outputting the airflow. A turbulator is disposed in at least one of the plurality of tubes, the turbulator having a slope defined in a direction transverse to the flow of air through the tube. The inclination varies in at least one longitudinal and one transverse direction of the tube.
