The present invention relates to a positioning unit, to be used in particular in the construction of the bodywork of the automobile industry, with a housing (2), with a driving part of the oblong (5), associated with the housing (2) and driven in opposite directions of movement, the rectilinear (x, y) by a linear movement, which moves a table of the positioning (3), and with at least one locking device, which blocks the table of the positioning (3) in the final position, respectively, by preventing its displacement. The present invention aims to improve such a positioning unit so as to be able to automatically obtain, with a form of compact design and therefore a low cost of construction, a reliable locking of the table for positioning in the final positions respectively. To this end, according to the invention, the table of the positioning (3) can be locked in its final positions of translation by two devices to toggle joint disposed inside the housing (2), which can be servo-controlled in position of locking and out of this position by the driving part of the oblong (5) is moved by the motorized driving.
