The process according to the invention is implemented in a rotary electrical machine (9, 10). The machine comprises, on the one hand, a polyphase stator (9) supplied by an electronic power module (7) connected to the input of a block of filtering capacitors (8) and to a network of electric power (1), and secondly a wound rotor (10) supplied by an excitation circuit (11).
