The subject of the invention is a method for analyzing and recording information for identifying a medical device which information is contained in a barcode of unknown typology as well as a method of recognition and traceability of medical devices, these methods being carried out with the aid of computing means. They are applicable in all health facilities, whatever the manufacturer and whatever the means for identifying the medical devices used by the manufacturer.
