The present invention relates to a method for measuring the concentration of microorganisms in an air filter of an air pollution control system of a passenger compartment of a vehicle, said measurement method comprising a test phase of the filter at air comprising: - a step (E1) of setting up said air filter to be tested and a very high efficiency filter in a hermetic enclosure, said very high efficiency filter being placed downstream of said air filter, - a step ( E2) for generating the air flow successively passing through said air filter and said very high efficiency filter; - a step (E3) of diffusion, during a predefined diffusion time, of a microbiological solution comprising microorganisms in said air flow, a step (E4) for measuring the concentration of microorganisms in the very high efficiency filter, and - a step (E5) for calculating an efficiency ratio of the air filter according to the concentration in micro-gold measured in the very high efficiency filter.
