Method for deghosting and redatuming operator estimation

Method for removing the surface ghost from and/or separating wavefield data and/or for estimating redatuming operators of the wavefield data. It includes obtaining wavefield signals obtained by activating sources 1-12 at different distances from a reference surface (dotted line). A gather is formed from the wavefield signals of multiple lateral offsets. It also includes applying a transform to the gather to partition or map a first wavefield into at least two different cones in the transformed domain. In some aspects the transform is also used to partition or map a second or ghost wavefield which propagates towards the reference surface. The contribution of the wavefield in the cone is used to isolate the first wavefield and/or a ghost wavefield and/or to estimate a redatuming operator.
