The present invention enables a user to be provided with progress information regarding an unattended object after appearance thereof in a monitored region. This unattended object monitoring device (3) is configured to be provided with: an image acquisition unit (11) which acquires an image of a monitored region captured by an image pickup device (2); an object tracking unit (21) which detects, from the captured image, an object appearing that has emerged within the monitored region, and tracks the object appearing individually by using images captured of the object; an unattended object detection unit (22) which detects, as an unattended object, an object that has not changed position for longer than a prescribed period of time on the basis of the tracking results of the individual object appearing; a progress information generation unit (23) which generates progress information regarding the unattended object following the appearance thereof in the monitored region, on the basis of the tracking results of the individual object appearing; and a reporting image generation unit (13) which generates a reporting image by superimposing the progress information over the captured image.
