The structure allows portable equipment comprising elements (7, 10, 14, 15, 16, 17, 18) which can preferably, although do not have to be, interconnected using one or more wired connections to be carried around and used, the said structure comprising: - two platforms (1, 2) each of which comprises a bottom (8, 32) intended to support one or more parts of the equipment, - a lid (3), - means (19, 19') of connecting the lid (3) to the said platforms (1, 2), it being possible for the said structure to be configured into at least three configurations, namely a so-called transport configuration, a so-called intermediate configuration, and a so-called configuration of use. The said structure further allows, in all three configurations, at least one wired connection (9) to be led out from one platform (1) to the other (2) so as to connect at least one item supported by the internal face (8b) of the bottom (8) of a platform (1) to at least one other element supported by the internal face (32b) of the bottom (32) of the other platform (2).
