PURPOSE: An Ethernet communication link method and a digital protective relay performing the same are provided to enter a normal operation mode even though an Ethernet communication line is connected to an Ethernet port A or an Ethernet port B.;CONSTITUTION: A processor unit (410) sets up a PHY layer of a first communication port and a second communication port. The processor unit determines whether to succeed automatic negotiation for the first communication port and the second communication port.
