System and method for event logging in a technical system or a technical process

The logging system has a processing unit (10) for automatically assigning timestamps (110) to digital text messages (140), information relating to operator control actions and navigation steps performed. A search module is provided in the processing unit for assigning an appropriate context together with time series data, system events and system parameters to particular events. The system parameters are processed upon a complete search integrated in the search module and are displayed as an operator log or event log. An independent claim is included for a method for recording, processing and displaying system- and process-specific operator control actions, process messages, alarm messages, system events, system parameters and digital text messages of a technical system or a technical process.
