The invention relates to a method for monitoring a triggering device (AE) of a fire extinguishing system, wherein the trigger means is connected via a feed line to an erase control unit (EST). The trigger means is activated when a received fire alarm (AL) by the erase control unit by means of an electromechanical relay (R). It is connected in series to the relay, a semiconductor switching element (FET), in order to avoid false triggering of the triggering device as a result of mechanical action on the electromechanical relay. There is the release only when both switching elements (R, FET) are triggered to close.
