The invention relates to a power plant that has a steam generator, which has burners that are fired using coal-containing fuel; a mill system (21), which comprises at least one fuel mill (17, 18, 19, 20); and at least one primary air channel (1), which is connected to the at least one fuel mill (17, 18, 19, 20) of the mill system (21), supplies heated primary air (16) to the at least one fuel mill (17, 18, 19, 20), and comprises a mill air heat exchanger (3) arranged in the primary air channel flow cross-section (2) of the primary air channel (1). The mill air heat exchanger has a primary air flow cross-section (4), through which the heated primary air (16) can flow, and is paired with a primary air bypass flow cross-section (5), which is adjacently arranged in the primary air channel flow cross-section (2) and can be closed in a controllable manner. The aim of the invention is to provide a solution which allows a quick start of fuel mills of a power plant. This is achieved in that the primary air flow cross-section (4), through which the heated primary air (16) can flow, of the mill air heat exchanger (3) is designed to be closable in a controllable manner.
