It is described a method for controlling the operation of a wind turbine (120). The method comprises (a) receiving, by means of a power controller (5240), an active power reference signal (P*conv, PrefWT) being indicative for the active power which is supposed to be generated by the wind turbine (120) and an active power feedback signal (Pfb) being indicative for the active power which is actually generated by the wind turbine (120); (b) determining, by means of the power controller (5240) and based on the active power reference signal (P*conv, PrefWT) and on the active power feedback signal (Pfb), a first voltage control signal (Vd) and a power controller frequency signal ( É PC); (c) determining, by means of a frequency droop gain unit (5320) and based on the power controller frequency signal ( É PC), a second voltage control signal (Vq); (d) determining, by means of a theta integrator unit (5380) and based on the power controller frequency signal ( É PC), an actual angle signal (¸0) being indicative for an actual angle between a rotating dq reference frame and a stationary abc reference frame; and (e) controlling the operation of a network bridge (246) based on the first voltage control signal (Vd), the second voltage control signal (Vq), and the actual angle signal (¸0). It is further described a network bridge controller, a wind turbine, a power generating and forwarding system, and a computer program which are all capable of carrying out or controlling the described control method.
