A ceramic-wound-capacitor (10) includes a first-electrically-conductive-layer (20), a dielectric-layer (30), a second-electrically-conductive-layer (40), and a protective-coating (50). The dielectric-layer (30) is formed of lead-lanthanum-zirconium-titanate (PLZT). The protective-coating (50) has a thickness of less than ten micrometers (10µm) and provides electrical isolation between the first-electrically-conductive-layer (20) and the second-electrically-conductive-layer (40) of the ceramic-wound-capacitor (10).
