[Problem] To provide a reinforced substrate for a composite material, a composite material, and a method for manufacturing a reinforced substrate for a composite material in which shaping properties can be improved.;[Solution] A reinforced substrate 100 for a composite material, the reinforced substrate 100 having: a reinforcing layer 115 in which a fiber direction of reinforcing fibers 110 is aligned in a single direction; and auxiliary fibers 120 that are laminated on the reinforcing layer so as to follow only one direction intersecting the fiber direction, and that are joined to the reinforcing fibers to hold the reinforcing layer. The auxiliary fibers have a higher tensile elongation at break than do the reinforcing fibers.
