The present invention describes a method for producing an electrical machine (50) with an end winding (10) and a housing (12). First, a hard foam system (20) is provided that a hard foam (26) has a first liquid state that can be converted into a second solid state. The rigid foam (26) has non-metallic particles (22). In the second state, the rigid foam system (20) has a volume that is at least 5% higher than in the first state. The rigid foam system (20) is introduced into an area between the end winding (10) and the housing (12) of the electrical machine (50), the rigid foam system (20) being transferred from the first state to the second state and in the second state for heat dissipation the end winding (10) connects to the housing (12). The end winding (10) can thus be thermally well connected to the housing (12) and these two components still remain electrically isolated from one another.
