Subject of the invention is a process for the synthesis of metal molybdates and metal tungstates from molybdenum and tungsten carbides and nitrides. The invention relates to the synthesis of metal molybdates and metal tungstates from molybdenum and tungsten carbides and nitrides by the method of converting molybdenum and tungsten carbides and nitrides in the presence of a solution of metal-containing reactive compounds. This process allows the synthesis of large amounts of metal molybdates and metal tungstates from molybdenum and tungsten carbides and nitrides.
