A rotor cleaning device (40) for an open-end type spinning apparatus (4) comprising- a cleaning head (44) for cleaning an open-end rotor (28), said cleaning head (44) comprising a scraper (48) and/or a brush (52),- a drive system (56), comprising a first motor (60) for the rotation of the cleaning head (44) and a kinematic mechanism (64) mechanically connecting the first motor (60) to the cleaning head (44),- a movement system (88) to bring the cleaning head (44) near the open-end rotor (28) to be cleaned.;Advantageously, the kinematic mechanism (64) comprises a mechanical connection between the first motor (60) and a support (68) of the cleaning head (44) with respect to a main rotation axis (X-X). The scraper (48) and/or the brush (52) of the cleaning head (44) are rotatably assembled around a secondary axis (Y-Y) on a pin (72) eccentric to said main axis of rotation (X-X).
