A method to monitor the health status of a rolling bearing (16) of a machinery (10), comprising: a.a first acquiring step (SV) of a rotation speed value (SV1) of a shaft (18) coupled to the rolling bearing (16), b.a second acquiring step (AD) of a first signal (S1) generated by a vibration sensor (11) located on the machinery (10) in a position distant from the rolling bearing, and c.a first calculating step (SSV) of a variation of the shaft rotation speed value during a predetermined time interval (TI), and if the calculated variation of the rotation speed falls within a predetermined variation interval (VI), d. performing a first filtering step (A) of the first signal (S1) with a first algorithm based on a vibration produced by parts of the machinery different from the bearing at the said rotation speed value (SV1), so as to obtain a second signal (S2) representative of a bearing health status.
