This document suggests mechanisms, devices, systems, etc. for monitoring a physical downlink control channel and related control signaling. The invention may be used in a 5G NR system. Some embodiments relate to the implicit or explicit indication of a CORESET 0 that is monitored by the UE in case of the network defining multiple CORESETs 0. In some embodiments, a downlink control channel may be provided with a common search space (CSS) and a user-equipment (UE)-specific search space (USS) and techniques are discussed to clarify the monitoring of search spaces of UEs in connection with situations, where a UE may only receive one of multiple search spaces.
