To provide a fishing reel having a palm side first side cover provided on the other side of a handle.SOLUTION: A fishing reel includes: a locking protrusion protrusively provided on a palm side placement part of a frame; and a lock lever comprising a body part in rotatable shaft connection to an inner surface of a first side cover, a lock protrusion that is joined to the body part so as to rotate in company with the body part when the body part rotates and is locked by the locking protrusion in a state in which the first side cover is closed, and an opening part that is protrusively provided on the body part so as to be exposed to the outside of the first side cover and rotates the body part, the lock lever provided so that a rotation direction of the body part rotated by the opening part so that the lock protrusion becomes apart from the locking protrusion agrees with a direction of the first side cover being rotated and opened.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 3
