To obtain information for the maintenance work of a rotary machine.SOLUTION: An abnormality detector comprises: a vibration measured value acquisition unit for acquiring, for each rotation angle of a revolving shaft, the measured value of vibration of the revolving shaft by an axial vibration sensor provided in plurality, for each position spaced apart in the axial direction of the revolving shaft, on the outer circumferential surface of the revolving shaft in the radial direction of the revolving shaft with a space therebetween; a vibration vector calculation unit for calculating, on the basis of the measured value of vibration, a rotation angle at which the vibration of the revolving shaft is largest and a vibration vector that indicates the magnitude of vibration; and an estimation unit for estimating an abnormality occurrence position in the axial direction of the revolving shaft on the basis of a temporal change of the vibration vector.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
