To provide a muzzle pattern collation system that improves precision of collation using dog's muzzle patterns.SOLUTION: A muzzle pattern collation system is configured to: acquire collation object images obtained by photographing a muzzle pattern of a dog to be collated; extract a plurality of candidate dogs for which the acquired collation object images are classified from among dogs corresponding to muzzle pattern images registered in a storage device in advance, using a classification algorithm for classifying images on the basis of a feature quantity of the whole image; match feature points of the acquired collation object images against feature points of the muzzle pattern images corresponding to the plurality of extracted candidate dogs; and provide, as a collation result, information related to a dog corresponding to a muzzle pattern image having the maximum number of matches of feature points through the matching.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 7
