MACHINE-ROOM-LESS ELEVATOR MODIFICATION METHOD

To install a hoist whose fitting dimensions and outline dimensions are different from those before modification while diverting a number of apparatuses.SOLUTION: When modifying a machine-room-less elevator, a balance weight return wheel is removed from an upper support body 13, and a new hoist 21 is installed at a position of the upper support body 13 where the balance weight return wheel was mounted. A drive sheave 7 of a hoist 5 at a lower part of a hoistway 4 is used as a lower return wheel of the elevator after modification. Furthermore, a coil part is removed from the hoist 5 at the lower part of the hoistway 4 so as to eliminate magnetic resistance with respect to rotation of the drive sheave 7.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 5
