PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical fiber core diameter converter and a different optical fibers connector with which it is possible to constitute an optical fiber having a portion where the core diameter changes.;SOLUTION: Provided is an optical fiber core diameter converter connected to a longitudinal end of a core diameter change unsuitable optical fiber in which no dopant is added to the core or a clad is provided with a core diameter change suppressing mechanism for suppressing a change of core diameter, comprising at least a dopant-added core 2 with dopants added and a clad 3 covering its circumference. The diameter of the dopant-added core 2 includes a large diameter part 5 that is expanded by action of thermal diffusion of the dopant, the longitudinal one end is a small diameter part 4 that is the inherent diameter of the dopant-added core 2 and the other end is the large diameter part 5. One of the small diameter part 4 and the large diameter part 5 matches the core diameter of the core diameter change unsuitable optical fiber, and the longitudinal length is formed in a prescribed length L.;SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1;COPYRIGHT: (C)2019,JPO&INPIT
