To provide a monofilament fiber diameter measuring device, a fiber diameter measuring method, and a monofilament for detecting with high accuracy the abnormal fiber diameter portion of a monofilament for screen silk gauze in an electronic field that is required of high uniformity of fiber diameters.SOLUTION: Provided are a fiber diameter measuring device comprising a light projection unit for irradiating a running monofilament with light and a detection unit for detecting the irradiated luminous energy, wherein a gushing air is directed to a monofilament before passing through between the light projection unit and the detection unit and a first air exhaust nozzle is bored at a position not crossing a straight line linking the light projection unit and the detection unit, and a fiber diameter measuring method for blasting an air at a wind speed of 20-100 m/minute from the first air exhaust nozzle to the running monofilament and measuring, using said measuring device, at intervals of 1.0 mm or less in the longitudinal direction of the monofilament.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
