To provide an actuator system for leading edge flaps allowing application of simple, light, small and inexpensive actuators.SOLUTION: A system comprises: an aircraft flap 202 including a top panel 308, a notch formed in the top panel 308 and extending into a side of the top panel 308 near a trailing edge 313 of the flap 202; and a seal coupled to the flap 202, the seal movable to cover the notch when the flap 202 is in the deployed position.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 3B
