PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To realize the improvement of distance measurable distance, the improvement of measurement accuracy, and the speeding up of a measurement process.;SOLUTION: Provided is a time measuring device for irradiating a scanning area with light and receiving reflected light of the light that is reflected by an object present in the scanning area, thereby measuring a time from light irradiation till the acquisition of a detection signal. The time measuring device performs measurement multiple times and detects the width of a detection signal each time measurement is made; divides a time or a value based on the time into a plurality of classes separated in prescribed units and classifies the detection signal in measurement into a corresponding class; and extracts the time in which measurement is made of the reflected light that is reflected by an object from among the plurality of times obtained by performing measurement multiple times, on the basis of a change in the width of the detection signal in multiple instances of measurements classified into each of the plurality of classes and the number of detection signals classified into each of the plurality of classes.;SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 18;COPYRIGHT: (C)2019,JPO&INPIT
