PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a device and a method for measuring hardness capable of easily measuring hardness of fruit.;SOLUTION: A first sensor part 11 includes a first piezoelectric element 11A that can abut on a lower part of fruit S, support the first sensor part 11, and can be deformed, and outputs a first voltage signal as a voltage signal corresponding to deformation of the first piezoelectric element 11A. A second sensor part 12 includes a second piezoelectric element 12A deformable independently of the first piezoelectric element 11A, and outputs a second voltage signal as a voltage signal corresponding to deformation of the second piezoelectric element 12A and supports the first sensor part 11A. An excitation part 13 excites the fruit S via the first sensor part 11 and the second sensor part 12.
