To allow for appropriately assessing the damage condition in the proximity of a weld of a replacement member obtained by welding weld parts of a high-strength ferritic steel material and another steel material together using a nickel-base alloy flux.SOLUTION: Damage condition in a predetermined boundary area of a welded steel material is assessed on the basis of chromium concentration and nickel concentration in the predetermined boundary area.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
