To provide a temporary support member for a steel beam joint and a joint method of the steel beam to support the steel beam until a joint operation to joint the steel beam to structures is completed, when the steel beam is additionally installed between existing structures positioned opposing to each other, and when at least one of the structures is a concrete member, and when an internal thread anchor cannot be buried in the concrete member, to joint the steel beam to the concrete member.SOLUTION: A temporary support member for a steel beam joint is provided with a flat plate 2 overlapping a surface of a concrete member 9, through which a temporary fixture 5 temporarily fixed in the concrete member 9 passes, and a vertically engaging part 3 and a horizontally engaging part 4, each of which is integrated with a surface of the flat plate 2 and is engaged to an end plate 8 in a vertically downward direction and a horizontal direction respectively. A temporary joint element inserting through hole 2a overlapping an anchorage through hole 8a formed or to be formed at the end plate 8 is formed at a receiving part 21 overlapped with the end plate 8, part of which is partitioned with the vertically engaging part 3 and the horizontally engaging part 4 and a temporary fixture inserting through hole 2b through which the temporary fixture 5 passes is formed in an area other than that of the receiving part 21.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 4
