To provide a fan unit which improves static pressure or air amount while materializing further downsizing, and a breathing protector equipped with such a fan unit.SOLUTION: A fan unit includes: an impeller 11; a motor 12 which rotation-drives the impeller 11; and a motor base 14 which installs the motor 12 to a base body 13. The impeller 11 is composed of a plurality of first blades 11a as a centrifugal fan vertically provided on an annular hub portion 15 and a plurality of second blades 11b as an axial flow fan radially provided from a supporting portion 16 provided at a center of the hub portion 15 toward a peripheral edge of the hub portion 15, and is configured to surround a periphery and a front surface of the motor 12.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 6
