To realize a report card creation assisting system with which it is possible to easily select a remark sentence example that fits within the range of maximum number of inputtable characters of a remark.SOLUTION: The report card creation assisting system comprises: a remark sentence sample database 22 in which a plurality of remark sentence samples and the number of characters of each remark sentence sample are registered in association; a remark sentence input setting storage unit 26 in which the inputtable maximum number of characters of a remark sentence are registered in association for each type of remark; a previously inputted character count storage unit 28 in which the previously inputted character count of an inputted remark sentence and the type of remark are registered in association for each type of remark; means for performing a computation process of subtracting the previously inputted character count of the remark from the inputtable maximum number of characters of the remark and calculating the inputtable number of characters of a remark sentence per child/pupil; and means for extracting a remark sentence example consisting of the inputtable number of characters or less from within the remark sentence example database 22 and outputting to a display unit 20.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
