To provide a delirium screening device and a delirium screening method capable of grasping a state of an autonomic nerve of a patient without imposing a burden on a patient, a nurse, or the like.SOLUTION: The device comprises: a biological information measuring unit 2 which measures time series data of biological information repeated at intervals; an analysis unit 4 which calculates a low frequency component LF and a high frequency component HF of periodic fluctuation of an interval by performing frequency analysis of the measured time series data and calculates the value M of a ratio LF/HF of the low frequency component LF to the high frequency component HF; and a delirium symptom determining unit 5 for determining the presence or absence of the symptom of delirium on the basis of the calculated value M. The delirium symptom determining unit 5 determines the presence of delirium when the value M is different from a known reference value N of a ratio LF/HF of a non delirium patient.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
