To provide a cermet raw material which can be crushed even when the raw material is molded at a low pressure to prevent the generation of the pores in a sintered body.SOLUTION: In the production method for the cermet raw material, a cermet raw material powder is subjected to wet milling in an alcohol solvent to form a slurry. Subsequently, an inorganic coagulant is added to the slurry, and the pH is adjusted into a pH range in which metal ions in the inorganic coagulant are precipitated as hydroxide. Then, a polymeric flocculant, which is a cationic polymer, is added. The slurry is then granulated and dried after a molding aid having a shape retention property is added.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
