To provide an axial gap type rotary electric machine, with a rotor having a plurality of permanent magnets and a base member supporting the same, which can prevent eddy current flowing in a direction preventing a change of flux passing through an area where the permanent magnets are displaced from occurring in the base member.SOLUTION: So as to block electric conduction between a first outside circumferential direction portion and a second outside circumferential direction portion, a gap is formed between a tip of the first outside circumferential direction portion and a tip of the second outside circumferential direction portion, and a reinforcement member suppresses a deformation in which each of the tips of the first outside circumferential direction portion and the second outside circumferential direction portion deviates outside in a rotational diameter direction.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 3
