To disclose an experimental loading device and method for parallel assembly double arch antiplane instability.SOLUTION: An experimental loading device for parallel assembly double arch antiplane instability includes a jack mount adjustment block, a tensile and compression jack, a pole, a bottom beam, a reaction beam, a slide groove, a roll shaft, and a rigid engagement element. A mount for placing an arch ring of the parallel assembly double arch is installed on the upper end surface of a bottom beam; a jack mount adjustment block is provided in a reaction beam; and the jack mount adjustment block is provided with a tensile and compression jack which is always in parallel with respect to the arc radial direction of the arch ring of the parallel assembly double arch. A slide groove is provided on the lower part of the jack mount adjustment block; the rigid engagement element is provided on the upper part of the tensile and compression jack; a roll shaft is fit into the slide groove; and the rigid engagement element is located below the roll shaft. The bottom surface of the slide groove is oblique groove surface, and the upper surface of the rigid engagement element is oblique wedge surface.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
