PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a permanent cathode for electrorefining and an electrorefining method using the same that can suppress electrodeposition of granular electrolytic copper onto a lower end part of an edge strip.;SOLUTION: A permanent cathode for electrorefining is made of a cathode beam and a rectangular shaped cathode plate connected to the cathode beam, and is equipped with an edge strip made of an insulation material for masking both sides of the cathode plate. The edge strip has a mounting part for connecting the cathode plate, and the cathode plate has a fitting part for connecting the edge strip at a position of the cathode beam side of both sides. A connection mechanism for connecting the edge strip to both sides of the cathode plate while the mounting part and the fitting part are engaged to each other includes a mechanism in which an extension direction of the edge strip that occurs due to a difference of thermal expansion coefficients between the cathode plate and the edge strip is restrained and guided into a lengthwise direction of the edge strip, and suppresses a gap that occurs between a tip part of the edge strip and a tip side part of the cathode plate.;SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 3(a);COPYRIGHT: (C)2019,JPO&INPIT
