PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a dryer equipped with a screw feeder having better sealability relative to a conventional one, and a vacuum dryer comprising the same.;SOLUTION: A feed side screw feeder 22 disposed in a feed path 14, comprises a compression part, a retention part and a stopper part. In the compression part, pitch of a screw blade 30B gradually becomes smaller as proceeding from the side of the hopper 12 toward the side of a vacuum chamber 16. The retention part is disposed closer to the side of the vacuum chamber 16 relative to the compression part, and its part in a length exceeding the smallest pitch of the screw blade 30B, is not provided with the screw blade 30B.
