PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a process for manufacturing method of a cured article while having quick curability, further a resol type phenol resin less in diffusion amount of formaldehyde, a resol type phenol resin composition, a cured article thereof and a manufacturing method of the resol type phenol resin.SOLUTION: The resol type phenol resin composition to which an aromatic nucleus having a methylol group binds via a methylene group is constituted to contain the methylol group and the methylene group of 0.55 to 0.45 respectively by peak area ratio in-NMR measurement based on the aromatic nucleus.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 2
