Disclosed are systems and methods that attempt to improve spectral efficiency by using faster than Nyquist (FTN) transmission. In one embodiment, the method at the transmitter comprises: dividing bits into K bit streams; obtaining power scaled K symbol streams; and power scaled said K symbol streams.
