Provided is a legume sorting system and a legume sorting device wherein capturing an image of transmitted light when observing seeds inside pods is made unnecessary, the accommodation state (specifically, number and size) of seeds within a pod can be inspected by capturing an image of reflected light, and, preferably, legumes are inspected or sorted according to values for a vegetation index calculated from a captured image. This legume sorting system inspects or sorts the legumes by analyzing a captured image of the legumes with pods and is provided with an image acquisition means for acquiring an image captured by an imaging means, and an image analyzing means for analyzing the image acquired by the image acquisition means. The image analyzing means carries out size inspection for measuring the length of the individual legumes and the width of the individual legumes on the basis of the captured image and number inspection for calculating the number of seeds accommodated within a pod on the basis of the calculated legume length, or instead, inspects or sorts the legumes according to a value for the vegetation index.
