PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method capable of effectively and highly accurately evaluating the deterioration degree of grease containing lithium 12-hydroxy stearate as a thickener.;SOLUTION: There is provided a method for evaluating the deterioration degree of grease containing lithium 12-hydroxy stearate, in which lithium 12-hydroxy stearate and deterioration matter component of the lithium 12-hydroxy stearate are trimethylsilylated by applying derivatization treatment to grease by using a trimethylsilyl derivatization reagent, detection peak areas of the trimethylsilylated lithium 12-hydroxy stearate and the deterioration matter component are measured by gas chromatography, and the deterioration degree of the grease is evaluated from the detection peak areas.;SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 5;COPYRIGHT: (C)2019,JPO&INPIT
