To provide a concept for a coded spectrum value of a spectrum envelope.SOLUTION: An improved concept for a coded sample value of a spectrum envelop is obtained on one hand by spectrum time prediction and on the other hand by connecting context based entropy coding of residual, at the same time, a context is especially determined for a present sample value dependent on measuring of deviation between already coded/decoded sample value pairs of the spectrum envelop in the vicinity of the spectrum time of the present sample value. On one hand, context based entropy coding combination of prediction residual regarding selection of on one hand spectrum time prediction and on the other hand the context dependent on deviation measuring is coordinated with characteristics of the spectrum envelope.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 2
