In order to detect a plane in an imaging range with consideration also given to an inclination in a depth direction, a CPU (14) detects a lens position at which a detected value becomes a peak by a contrast detection method with respect to each of a plurality of detection frames set in an image captured from a sensor (12), and detects a plane including a predetermined number or more of lines passing through two points each represented by the position in the horizontal direction of each of the plurality of detection frames in the image, the position in the vertical direction thereof, and the position in the depth direction of an object corresponding to the detected lens position.
